About the man;

Steven McCormick

As a kid, I couldn’t understand the adult world. “You mean to tell me, we spend our whole childhood being parented, just to become an adult and continue to be “parented” by people we never agreed to be parented by?” How absurd! It was an insult to my soul. As the years went on, I learned more and more about how the world of the dead really works, and that insult turned into righteous rage. I knew what was wrong, but I felt powerless to stop it. In recent years, I learned that the only way to stop it, the only way to regain my power, was to remove myself from it. I learned that doing so was not only much simpler than everyone thinks it is, but also that it required no rage, no fighting, no controversy at all. Indeed, it required only two things: An understanding of what I truly am, and love. Real, honest, love. For myself, for the other members of mankind, and for the universe (or source, or God, Nature, whatever you wish to call it)

I started my bookkeeping journey many years ago. I spent my 20’s bouncing from construction trade to construction trade, never quite understanding why I was miserable in every one I tried. I am eternally grateful for the knowledge I obtained from having worked in all those trades, as it has enabled me to help other wo/men with thier projects, but it just wasn’t what I was meant to do. I eventually discovered that I loved economics, and I began to search for a career in it. I settled on bookkeeping, partially because I wanted to help companies succeed, and partially because I wanted to be able to work at home in my pyjamas! So I taught myself the art of bookkeeping from scratch, found a few bookkeepers to work for remotely, and so my career began. I spent some time working for an accounting firm on location, and that is where I began to understand just how utterly insane CORPSEorate bookkeeping truly is. I couldn’t believe how much money companies would pay my boss to work accounting wizardry in order to pay as little in taxes as possible. I couldn’t begin to comprehend the massive web of rules governemnts imposed on the various accounts, and how many of them only existed because of those rules. I knew my trade could be ininitely simpler, and I knew I could combine it with my newfound knowledge of truly Private business. So, the bookkeeping side of The Silver Scale was born!
